Chatto. Making serious pinot fun.
Celebrating 25 years as a brand this year Chatto is the result of Jim Chatto’s fixation with Tasmanian Pinot Noir as a small side project alongside his day jobs as winemaker in the Hunter Valley (First Creek, Pepper Tree and Mount Pleasant/McWilliams 2000-2020). In 2019 Jim was named the Gourmet Traveller Winemaker of the Year. Stepping full time into this side hustle in the past 5 years has seen some interesting extra curricular wines appearing more recently from outside of Tasmania. Side hustles continue it seems.
Come visit us along the Huon River at Isle Vineyard and check out our range of Pinot Noirs from across Tasmania …..and beyond.
Our friends Laura and Alvaro from Andes Food will bring delicious Latin America inspired tasty jaffles made specifically to match Pinot Noir – Duck, mushroom or pork? GFO will be available.
On both Saturday and Sunday we will be running 2 daily Pinot Masterclasses* with Jim Chatto at 11am and 1pm where you will get to take a look at the diversity of Tasmanian Pinot through our single vineyard, regional and estate wines.
Jim’s career includes his wine show judging track record where he has chaired the National, Brisbane, McLaren Vale, Hunter and Melbourne Wine shows and he organises an annual Pinot Noir masterclass at the Len Evans Tutorial – one of the most exclusive wine schools on the planet today.
(*Masterclasses are ticketed and require a minimum of 6/maximum 18 people per class. Cost $40pp.) Book here.
For art lovers, we have Hobart artist Josh Andree previewing some new works in the winery over the weekend. His Tasmanian landscape paintings are incredible and we are honoured to bring these to this event.
